Man Beats Machine" on EyeTrackUX 2010

02/06/2010

Sofie VanophemEye tracking is a very popular research method in the context of modern usability studies. But how does it pay off in practice? Do we really find out why a usability problem occurs, why it keeps repeating itself and how it has to be solved, only by measuring the user's eye movements?

To make sure that user experience also yields the required results, usability experts have to continue to trust their "human" expertise and complement quantitative eye tracking studies with qualitative research methods. In her presentation at the EyeTrackUX 2010 Sofie Vanophem will explain the Human Interface Group white paper and give some practical tips: Man Beats Machine: Why Usability Research Should Value Quality over Quantity.

 Practical info: 2 & 3 June 2010, CUO Leuven.
