Isabel graduated as a translator English and Spanish. She felt that being a language freak was not enough to launch herself into the competitive job market, and went on to study Media & Communication Technologies at the Catholic University of Leuven. She started her professional career working as a translator and communication expert for an HR consulting company. After having made a pit stop at the Mexican Embassy, she joined Human Interface Group.

Isabel’s spare time is mainly filled with having as much fun as possible with her husband and offspring (which consists of two lots-of-energy-consuming toddlers). Furthermore, she loves to play the saxophone, read everything she can get her hands on, and sit back and enjoy the company of her friends.

Expertise

Isabel has substantial expertise in designing and evaluating user interfaces, ranging from web to touch screen applications. She has developed various types of end-user documentation: online help systems, training manuals, e-learning courses, etc. Furthermore, she’s an expert at developing blended learning solutions, and has provided in-house training and managed the rollout of both end-user and train-the-trainer training in large-scale software implementation projects.

Isabel has worked on a broad range of projects for Getronics, Isabel NV, USG People Belgium, HDP, Tibotec-Virco, OmegaSoft, Randstad Group Belgium, Electrabel, etc. Thanks to her analytic mind, fluent writing skills and sense for technique, she manages to translate complex technical matters into an understandable language for the end user.

As lector of the open course Supporting and Training your Users, she is willing to share her expertise with the world.
